about my practice
Hi, I’m Ab. I believe that connection can heal. I believe our bodies are wise and will show us the way forward.
I became a therapist because I had a longing to accompany people in their depths. I chose to train somatically because of the profound transformation I experienced through somatic work. I spent a long time afraid of my own body. Through somatic therapy, I learned that my body could be a powerful and supportive home. It is my honor to support people in finding their way home to their bodies and themselves. It brings me great joy to watch my clients transform and I am continuously moved by the unfolding mystery of healing.
I have a M.A. in Somatic Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies and a B.A. in Environmental Studies from the University of Michigan. I have spent nearly a decade supporting people amidst transitions-- as a guide for elders experiencing housing instability and homelessness, as a doula for postpartum families, and as a therapist.
I am a white, queer, nonbinary femme and ashkenazi jew. I am informed by various lineages: those of generative somatics, hakomi, breema, attachment theory, and relational therapy, as well as lineages of transformative justice and disability justice. I am deeply shaped by my relationships, including those with the land and bodies of water of the midwest.
I offer a free 20-minute consultation. Contact me to set up a time to talk.
